The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC has boldly stated the NPP is tired of the former presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong.
He revealed that members of the NPP are tired of Kennedy Agyapong because anytime he has an issue with someone, he accuses the person of receiving help from him.
Speaking in an interview on Wontumi TV, Abronye DC stated, “We are tired of Kennedy Agyapong. Anytime he has issues with someone, he accuses the person of receiving help from him. He had issues with Naa Torshie and claimed he was taking care of her. He had problems with Yaw Adomako Baafi and called him poor.
“He fought against the late Chairman Kutin simply because Kutin did not support him but instead backed Bawumia, that is, Kennedy Agyapong for you. He also clashed with Hawa Koomson and called her a poor teacher, claiming he lobbied Akufo-Addo to get her a position, implying that Akufo-Addo did not even know what he was doing.
“He boasts about financing the party more than anyone else and claims he has bought food for every NPP member,” Abronye lamented.
“Every day he claims he has financed the NPP, but have you ever heard Kennedy Agyapong telling party members about the advantages he has also gained?
“That shows how evil and greedy he is. If you are looking for someone who is selfish, it is Kennedy Agyapong. He is a dishonourable man, yet he claims he has fed everyone in the party,” he asserted.
His comment comes following a heated exchange of words between himself and Kennedy Agyapong.
On Monday, April 28, 2025, in the ongoing NPP nationwide “Thank You Tour” there was an exchange of words between Kennedy Agyapong and Abronye DC.
Abronye, addressing the gathering tackled allegations levelled against him. He recounted how was accused of instigating a political plot against a particular presidential candidate prior to the party’s internal elections last year over claims he was campaigning for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 presidential candidate of the NPP.
He also questioned the sincerity of persons preaching unity in the NPP, when, in his view, the same people had earlier sown seeds of discord within the party.
Kennedy Agyapong on the other hand took offence to Abronye words as being directed at him and fired his shots describing him as a poor man with confidence who talks anyhow.
Kennedy Agyapong, “I am telling you the truth, nobody is a better man than the other but because of this party, some people talk as if they are men. They are not men. When it comes to monetary contributions, they cannot partake in it.
They have to go and beg and they talk as if the whole world is for them. If not for the sake of unity, some of them cannot even speak the way they speak because you are even shy coming to my house”.
He added, “With some, we buy cars for them and they will come out to do ‘too known’…I will respect you but I won’t respond to some people or else you would see a showdown…I have money; I don’t beg. Even you, poor people, think you can talk boldly, how about rich men like me? Please! Who born dog for you to talk anyhow?”.
