A disturbing video has surfaced of some students of the Winneba Technical Institute openly brandishing various weapons.
In a viral video shared on X, the students dressed in their uniform were captured brandishing various weapons.
The video has drawn widespread outrage particularly because of the ongoing case of the unfortunate incident involving SDA student, Suzzy Pinamang, who is still recovering from the tragedy of another student bringing a weapon to school.
In a different story, a 16-year-old form two student of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) has been arrested for possessing a locally manufactured firearm without lawful authority.
According to reports the arrest comes following a routine dormitory search by school authorities on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
During the search, the school authorities discovered the locally manufactured firearm.
The student was later handed to the Tafo Pankrono Divisional Police Command for further investigation.
Reports suggest that the SHS student during interrogation alleged that the firearm belonged to his stepfather, Mr Daniel Owusu Baafi who had also been picked up by the police.
Head of Public Affairs for the Ashanti Regional Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police Godwin Ahianyo revealed this in a statement on Sunday, May 18.
Both the SHS student and stepfather have been granted police enquiry bail and are expected to report to authorities on Monday, May 19, 2025, for additional investigations.
