Deputy Managing Director of Inter-city STC, Alhaji Nurudeen Hamdan had claimed Nana Akomea unlawfully sold STC lands like groundnuts.

According to Alhaji Nurudeen Hamdan, Nana Akomea sold the STC lands to NPP members.

Nana Akomea has strongly refuted the claims suggesting that there was no iota of truth in his claims.

He emphasised that there had never been a time when he sold STC land to his party members and supporters.

According to him, he inherited a situation where STC lands in Takoradi in the Western Region, had been purchased and used to build a MELCOM shop.

Speaking on Peace FM Kokrokoo show Nana Akomea stated, “There’s no iota of truth in it. If I want to sue him, he does not have money to pay, there is no truth in it. But recently he had stopped saying that.

If you want to know those who sold STC lands, it is not Nana Akomea and the NPP”.

“I went to the STC to find that they had sold the 4 acres of land at the head office to a company called BCM. In 2010. There is also a 4 acres that was sold to Melcom”.

Meanwhile, management of Inter-city STC Coaches Limited has started a nationwide exercise aimed at regaining its properties that have been taken over by encroachers.

The company is currently engaged in legal battles with some individuals who are claiming ownership of portions of its lands.

This growing issue has become particularly pressing in the Ashanti Region, where two-thirds of STC’s over 22 acres of land located in the Oforikrom Municipality have been encroached upon.

Deputy Managing Director of Inter-city STC, Alhaji Nurudeen Hamdan, stated, “We have taken over this place as the management of STC, and we are going to go through the process. Of course, they are all Ghanaians, we won’t say that we are going to treat them badly; we will humanely treat them, but will ensure that Ghanaians will benefit from whatever dues”.

“Ours is to be proactive, identify the problem and come up with ways that we can go around it. But the ultimate decision is that of the government, not STC per se, but by extension, we need the legal advice of the government to also come in”, he added.
