Samuel Nartey George, the minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation is demanding a retraction and apology from NPP activist P.K. Sarpong over allegations he received a Lexus vehicle.
The NPP activist in a Facebook post claimed the minister was using an unregistered vehicle described as a “top of the range Lexus,” claiming it was a gift from an unnamed individual which flouts President Mahama’s Code of Conduct for government appointees.
Reacting to the allegations, the legal team for Sam George, Korsah & Ackah @ Law, strongly denied the claims, labelling them as “defamatory and injurious.”
The legal team of Sam George in a letter on May 20, demanded that Sarpong remove the Facebook post, and also issue a public retraction, and an apology within seven days or face a defamation lawsuit.
The letter stated, “You are fully aware that your publication is devoid of truth. Nonetheless, you have proceeded to make this misinformation public, with the apparent intention of tarnishing the hard-earned reputation of our client. Such conduct is defamatory and injurious.
“By this letter, you are hereby formally demanded to cease and desist from making or publishing any further false claims about our client.”
The minister asserted that the 2024 Lexus LX600 was personally purchased and financed through a loan facility provided by the National Investment Bank to the government and parliament.
Sam George in a post on X stated that he was a serving Member of Parliament of Ghana who is entitled to a car loan so how are vehicle he purchased scheme as a gift from a businessman?

I have decided to let the world see how dishonest and untruthful you are. I am a serving Member of Parliament of Ghana who is entitled to a car loan.
