President John Dramani Mahama has shared a photo of his visit to Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on Mother’s Day.
John Mahama in a Facebook post wrote, “A special Mother’s Day greeting to my Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, whom I had the pleasure of visiting earlier this morning.
She is taking a deserved rest after recovering from illness and looking forward to resuming her duties soon.
To her and all Ghanaian mothers, I say Happy Mother’s Day”.
Professor Jane Naana began a three-week medical break on April 7, 2025.
According to Jubilee House sources, the break follows medical advice from her doctor.
The Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has been in London for some weeks now after she was taken ill on Friday, March 28, 2025, and was first admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) in Accra the following day for medical evaluation.
President John Dramani Mahama had earlier reassured Ghanaians that Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is currently in good health, putting to bed rumours of her health.
According to the President, the Vice President is under recovery and is eager to return to serve the people of Ghana.
Delivering remarks at the official launch of the government’s nationwide sanitary pad distribution initiative on Thursday, April 24, President Mahama acknowledged the Vice President’s absence and shared an update on her condition.
“I wish to extend the greetings of Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang to all of you. I spoke to her yesterday and I told her we were going to miss her at this event because this is a programme that is very dear to her,” he said.
“She said I should say hello to all of you and to say she is recuperating and catching a bit of rest. She is very well and soon she will join us to continue to prosecute the reset agenda,” he added.
