The Director of Communications for the Dr Bawumia 2024 campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye has made a shocking revelation about the newly nominated Supreme Court judges by President John Dramani Mahama.
According to Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the future NPP government will dismiss all seven newly nominated Supreme Court Judges.
Asaase Radio quoted him to have said, “Future NPP government will dismiss all seven newly nominated Supreme Court justices”.
President John Dramani Mahama nominated seven new judges to the Supreme Court.
The nominations announced by the Office of the President were made in accordance with Article 144 (2) of the 1992 Constitution, and are subject to approval by Parliament.
The nominees are:
Justice Sir Dennis Dominic Adjei
Justice Gbiel Simon Suurbaareh
Justice Senyo Dzamefe
Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo
Justice Philip Bright Mensah
Justice Janapare Bartels-Kodwo
Justice Hafisata Amaleboba
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have reacted to the comments made by Dennis Miracles Aboagye saying, Weren’t almost all the current Justices appointed by Akuffo Addo? This was the reason why people were calling for a cup on the number of Justices Ghana can have at Supreme Court. Without that, the number will keep going up”.
“Till then. But the NDC can start dismissing all the over 20 judges appointed by President Nana Addo during his tenure”, another wrote.
A netizen also stated, “Sometimes I see these in the news and I asked who therefore is a Ghanaian to govern or take a rule, politician or who. These lawyers qualify or they’re not? Why sack dem when all qualification points to dem. Doing dese irritates the GH youth to think when voting. @DennisMiracles”.
Additionally, another X user wrote, “Okay, we don’t want to hear any noise should the current government initiate processes to dismiss Supreme Court Justices appointed by Akuffo Addo”.
