Mugabe Maase a pro-National Democratic Congress has blown an alarm on some NDC appointees spending lavishly in London.
The outspoken broadcaster accused some NDC appointees of living lavishly, buying costly drinks for others at restaurants.
He further warned that soon the unnamed appointee’s videos will be leaked as it beaches President John Mahama’s code of conduct for public officer holders.
Speaking on his show on TV XYZ, Mugabe Maase warned stated, “Some of the appointees are currently in London chilling. Very soon, your videos will pop up. Those chilling at Gold Coast Restaurant in London, I’m sounding a warning to you. What you are doing in London, your videos will pop up very soon.
Some of them went yesterday; others went three days ago. It happened to Sammy Gyamfi, and he was fortunate that President Mahama forgave him.
Today, some of the appointees are buying drinks in London. I don’t want to mention names. Continue chilling. If you are serving in this administration, you must be circumspect.
Don’t think that because you are out of Ghana, you can do whatever you like. London is my home, and I have received pictures of everything you are doing there”, he added.
Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama launched his long-awaited Code of Conduct and Ethics for all political appointees.
It marks a significant step toward enhanced transparency, accountability, and ethical governance.
President Mahama stated during the launch ceremony at the Presidency, “This Code represents a bold declaration of the standards we must uphold as servants of the public”.
“It is a living and enforceable framework that outlines what is expected of every individual appointed under this administration. This is a government of shared responsibility, and there will be no sacred cows.”
According to a press release, the code of conduct is based on core principles intended to promote a new political culture grounded in transparency, humility, and ethical leadership.
They include Serving the public with integrity and impartiality, Putting the national interest above personal interests, Avoid misuse of office or state resources, Declare and manage any potential conflicts of interest, Eschew opulence and be accountable for the use of public funds and Demonstrate humility in service, measured language, and respect for citizens.
The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah has warned government appointees there shall never be any excuse whatsoever when an appointee crosses the line.
