Eric Dumenu Akatsi, a private citizen who petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) over the CEO of the Goldbod Sammy Gyamfi gifting dollars to evangelist Nana Agradaa has claimed his life is being threatened.
According to Eric Dumenu Akatsi, following the filing of his petition on 11 May 2025, he has been flooded with calls from unknown numbers, with some direct threats and verbal abuse.
He stated, “Some of these people are invoking insults and threats as though I committed a crime”.
Mr Akatsi however insisted his actions were not politically motivated but stemmed from a civic duty to demand accountability.
“Let me put on record that I have nothing against Sammy. I am only exercising my right as a citizen by calling on institutions of state to investigate an issue of public interest,” he added.
The private citizen in his petition cited Article 218(e) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, which empowers CHRAJ to investigate alleged or suspected corruption and abuse of power by public officials.
He stated, “I write in my personal capacity and as a citizen of the Republic of Ghana with a civic duty”.
He described Sammy Gyamfi’s conduct in the video as “ a perfectly clear instance of alleged engagement in suspected corruption.”
Eric Dumenu Akatsi alleged that Sammy Gyamfi maintains two private bank accounts with Consolidated Bank Ghana a dollar account and a cedi account with both containing whopping sums of over One Hundred Million Ghana Cedi.
According to him, the large deposits are a relatively recent development.
“It is important to understand, that the accuracy of Mathematics leads to one irresistible conclusion — these are signs of suspected corruption.”
“I am verily aware and believe the same to be true that your office would give this petition the needed consideration and attention it deserves”, he added.
Sammy Gyamfi has come under serious scrutiny after a video surfaced of him gifting fetish priestess now pastor Patricia Asiedua, commonly known as Nana Agradaa some huge sums of dollars.
In the viral video shared on social media platform X Sammy Gyamfi was spotted standing beside his white Range Rover, taking a photo with Nana Agradaa.
After a brief conversation between the two Sammy Gyamfi proceeded to sit in his car.
Sammy Gyamfi in the vehicle was seen counting several notes of US dollars.
Nana Agradaa upon seeing Sammy Gyamfi count the dollars insisted that he hand over all the notes instead of giving her just some.
She later grabbed all the money from his hands and, walking away, flaunted the huge sums of US dollars to bystanders, saying, “I have taken dollars from Sammy Gyamfi.”
