Ghanaian blogger, Bongo Ideas has expressed a deep seated hatred for former President Akufo-Addo.
To him, the hatred for Akufo-Addo transcends beyond the one man to the many who have affiliations to him.
“My hatred for him (Akufo-Addo) and I believe our collective hatred for him—will be indelible and everlasting.”
He made this known in a post on his X handle where he spoke about the lasting damage Akufo-Addo had made on the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Growing up in Ghana, our parents taught us to hate Jerry John Rawlings and the NDC.
We found the NDC unattractive, and Rawlings was labeled heartless, with chilling tales told about his “vindictive political exploits.”

According to him, the “despicable record and inept leadership” of Akufo-Addo hangs over the necks of the party like an albatross.
Bongo Ideas was a victim of the excesses within the Akufo-Addo government and has undoubtedly developed an immense hatred for the former President.
Bongo Ideas recounted some men breaking into his home and threatening to kill him in an interview with DW TV.
He said that he was beaten up by these men and asked not to speak again about the President in his social media posts.
“So on 14th March 2024, around 3 am, some men masquerading as police officers broke into my room and dragged me out. I was threatened to be killed, pistols were pointed at my head.”
“I was told to say my last prayers. They beat me up and warned me not to speak about the president,” he told DW.
Earlier in March 2024, reports began circulating that some security operatives had arrested Bongo Ideas from his home after he made a series of unpleasant posts about President Akufo-Addo and First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo.
The Ghana Police Service and the National Security Secretariat all denied responsibility for the allegation.
The blogger after going missing for a few days returned home with no evidence of torture although he claimed he was beaten and tortured by men claiming to be Police Officers.
