Oheneba Nana Asiedu, a broadcast journalist with Wontumi TV has boldly stated many people around the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate for the 2024 general elections Dr Mahamudu Bawumia do not truly love him.
According to Oheneba Nana Asiedu, people around Dr Bawumia see him as a cash cow to make money for themselves.
The broadcast journalist asserted that the former vice president must do away with such people.
He emphasised that if the NPP does not sit down, act appropriately, and entrust responsibilities to the right people, they should forget it.
Speaking on Wontumi TV, Oheneba Nana Asiedu stated, “There are some people around Dr Bawumia, Sir, do away with them. They see you as a cash cow. If we don’t get things right, it’s not about Kennedy Agyapong, it’s not about Bawumia. It could even be Nana Addo or J.A. Kufuor, if the NPP does not sit down, act appropriately, and entrust responsibilities to the right people, we should forget it.”
He added, “One thing that helped Nana Addo was that when he started in 1996, you could see people around him whose ultimate desire was to see him lead the NPP and become president. Even though they benefitted when the party came to power, they were more focused on winning power than on personal gain.
But today, many people around Dr Bawumia do not truly love him, they see it as an opportunity to make money. Some people can trade the party. Some can sell out the NPP”.
Oheneba Nana Asiedu further urged that the NPP leadership that will be chosen from polling station to the national executives must not be selected based on their wealth.
“Therefore, the leadership we choose tomorrow, from polling station executives to electoral area coordinators, and constituency, regional, and national executives, should not be selected based on wealth.
Let’s look for individuals who are not desperate, so they won’t be deceived by food, just as Esau sold his birthright for a meal”, he emphasised.
Meanwhile, the member of parliament for Okaikwei Central Parick Yaw Boamah has cried on live radio that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has shifted its core values to being materialistic.
According to Parick Yaw Boamah, the NPP used to follow selfless people, but today, when someone acquires wealth they are praised by party members.
He asserted that Professor Adu Boahene was a university lecturer. Kufuor was not a millionaire when he came to power and Akufo-Addo was not a millionaire.
