The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, commonly known as Nana B, has claimed Sammy Gyamfi the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi is flaunting an opulence lifestyle in just 120 days in office.
Nana B accused Sammy Gyamfi of being driven in a 2025 Range Rover Autobiography valued at $350,000.
According to the NPP, Sammy Gyamfi is flaunting opulence and leading an ostentatious lifestyle.
Henry Nana Boakye also alleged that Sammy Gyamfi uses US dollars instead of the Ghanaian cedi daily.
He also alleged that the CEO of Ghana GoldBod receives GH₵150,000 clothing allowance and $2000 daily during a 30-day vacation, two official vehicles, personal accident and life cover valued at 5 times his salary ( GH₵ 1.5 m x 5 = GH₵ 7.5m) and other incentives as lavish benefits for his position.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, the National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye stated, “It may have escaped many observers of this unfortunate incident, but not only was Mr Sammy Gyamfi giving out United States dollars without restraint, but he also engaged in painted opulence just after 120 days in government.
“On the day in question, Mr Gyamfi was being driven in a 2025 Range Rover Autobiography valued at $350,000,” he said.
He added, “It is palpable unethical and a complete betrayal of the public trust for Mr Sammy Gyamfi to receive all these benefits on the back of helping maintain a steady currency, yet failed to have any iota of confidence in the Ghana cedi to the extent of using the US Dollars of daily use”.
The NPP minority in parliament had earlier revealed the salary and benefits of Sammy Gyamfi the acting CEO of the Gold Board.
According to the minority, Sammy Gyamfi earns GH¢125,000 per month which is subject to a 15 per cent increase every year.
The minority noted that the GoldBod CEO’s salaries and benefits far outweigh those of an MP.
