Isaac Adongo, the member of parliament for Bolgatanga Central has told his constituents he is enjoying his work at the Bank of Ghana.
According to Isaac Adongo, he serves on three critical committees the Risk Committee, the Economy Committee, and the Budget Committee.
Speaking in an interview on JOYNEWS, Isaac Adongo details, “Around the time we were doing the Goldbod, I could not visit home during the Thank You Tour, I needed to support Sammy Gyamfi to deal with the passage of the Goldbod.
These questions were asked him, once he made the decision to make my senior colleague the finance minister, he had a challenge then he needed to find somebody else since Dr Ayine was Attorney General. He looked around and saw the members of parliament it was difficult to go past me to do the work of parliament as the chairman of the finance committee”.
He added, “I think, to be honest with you, I am enjoying my work there. I serve on three critical committees: the Risk Committee, the Economy Committee, and the Budget Committee. In fact, I chair the Budget Committee.
The Budget Committee, for me, is more exciting because we need to have a more deliberate programme to get out of the negative net worth of about 63 billion cedis that we came to meet. So we are working towards exiting the board someday with the Bank in a much healthier state”.
His comments follow concerns from some of his constituents, who believe President John Dramani Mahama has snubbed in his ministerial appointments.
The Bolgatanga Central Youth Wing had earlier rejected President John Dramani Mahama’s appointment of Isaac Adongo, the Bolgatanga Central Lawmaker as a member of the Bank of Ghana board member.
According to the Bolgatanga Central Youth Wing, they are questioning why Isaac Adongo was not given a ministerial appointment.
