Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has heaped praises on Ibrahim Mahama the brother of President John Dramani Mahama following her return back home to Ghana.
Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang expressed her gratitude to God, her medical team, and the President of Ghana, for their support during her recent illness and made a special mention of Ibrahim Mahama.
Speaking at the Presidential Lounge of Kotoka International Airport on Thursday, May 22, 2025, she stated, “I want to thank all of you, your prayers, your good wishes. I can’t thank you enough. I am very grateful.
But I must single out, beyond family and friends, your brother Ibrahim Mahama. He spared no effort to ensure I had everything I needed. He also came to the hospital and sat by me, and that in itself was healing.
So, my little boss, I am very grateful. I am very happy to be back, and there is so much we all have to do. I know that with our collective will, we will achieve much more for our country,” she said.
President John Dramani Mahama on the other hand cried to Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang following her return from a health trip abroad.
Speaking during a briefing at the presidency, President Mahama expressed relief at the return of the vice president.
According to John Mahama, he missed Jane Naana’s presence, as her absence had complicated his duties, including a trip to Togo that sparked threats of impeachment from the NPP opposition.
John Mahama stated, “I particularly missed you because even travelling out of the country has been difficult. They threatened to impeach me just for going to Togo while you were away,”
“Everybody said you should’ve been there, but with all the work you did before you went, we continued, and I think we were able to present to the people of Ghana a significant percentage of the things that we had promised,” he stated.
He further added, “The doctors say you are 20 years younger. That is what the professor told me—that you are okay and fit for the job.”
“We will ask that you take it easy for a little while, and after that, we will see how things go,” he added.
