Evangelist Mama Pat, popularly known as Nana Agradaa the founder and leader of Heaven Way Church has bragged about returning the $800 gifted to her by the acting CEO of the Goldbod Sammy Gyamfi.
Sammy Gyamfi has come under serious scrutiny after a video surfaced of him gifting fetish priestess now pastor Patricia Asiedua, commonly known as Nana Agradaa some huge sums of dollars.
Reacting to the controversy in a live video on Instagram stated, “I will return the $800 and even double it. I will do my best to find his office, and I will go there with my camera and show it to Ghanaians that I have returned the money”.
She further added, “Some senior NDC party members are jealous of Sammy Gyamfi’s position and want to use this act of kindness – the $800 gift he gave me as a reason to get him sacked.
This is my mantle, my Bible, and my anointing oil, as a great woman of God, and I say that I will set my church on fire if I am the reason Sammy will lose his job. Because the Bible said we should do good to everybody, the Bible did not discriminate when it said that. So, if Sammy Gyamfi gives me money, he deserves to do that”.
Sammy Gyamfi has since issued a public apology for his indiscretion.
According to Sammy Gyamfi, he is sincerely sorry for the unfortunate act of indiscretion.
He revealed that the dollars gifted to Nana Agradaa are his daily and life-long custom of lending to people in need.
“Folks, I have taken notice of the wave of criticisms against my person in the last 24 hours. To clarify, this was simply a kind gesture to a fellow human being, in line with my daily and life-long custom of lending a helping hand to people in need.
I sincerely thought that I was doing this act of kindness in private and never imagined that same could find its way into the public space. That is unfortunate and regrettable,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Minority caucus in Parliament demanded tough actions from President John Mahama against the Sammy Gyamfi.
Dr Kabiru Tia Mahama addressing a press conference on Monday, May 12, 2025, stated, “The minority is calling for the immediate suspension of Sammy Gyamfi as acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board. This goes against the Code of Conduct, the Forex Exchange Act, and the Currency Act”.
“Even though the Chief Justice has stated that ignorance of the law is no excuse, Sammy Gyamfi is not ignorant of the law. He understands the consequences of this action and should take responsibility.
We call for a full investigation into the source of the dollars displayed in the viral video”, he added.
