The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, commonly known as A Plus has revealed that he may run to become president of Ghana one day.
According to Kwame A Plus, he wanted to enter politics to show people that if he wanted to, I could be here.
Speaking on Channel One TV, Kwame A Plus stated, “I entered politics to show people that if I want to, I can be here. I wanted to prove that you shouldn’t waste time debating what others can’t achieve, focus on what you can achieve,” he added with passion.
“They gave me a job, but when they realized I wasn’t someone who would keep quiet, they pulled back. I’m not the kind to be reserved. If I’m hired, I’ll express myself.”
He further revealed he still believes in the leadership of the NPP but is happy where he is now.
The member of parliament added, “I still believe in the leadership of the NPP and have good relationships with many people in the party.”
“I want to be everything. Maybe even president one day, who knows?” But when it comes to his current political career, A Plus is clear: “I’m happy where I am for now, and I’ll leave the rest to God.”
“I will never be a minister. I want to live my life freely, be myself, and enjoy my time with my friends. Being a minister comes with too many constraints”, he stated.
Meanwhile, Kwame A Plus who was in the news recently has publicly apologised for his “inappropriate” social media remarks directed at Attorney-General, Dr Dominic Ayine.
“Upon reflection, I acknowledge that the tone and choice of words I used were inappropriate. As a Member of Parliament, a younger colleague, and a junior in the House, I sincerely apologize to Hon. Dr. Ayine and to the general public,” he stated.
A-Plus also denied any involvement in the NSS ghost names scandal stating he had no dealings with the NSS and only assisted an individual seeking media support to clear his name.
“The only time I came into contact with the issue was in November 2024, when a gentleman approached me claiming he was being falsely accused. As a media personality and majority shareholder in a Ghanaian media company (as declared in my asset declaration), he sought my assistance to help clear his name through media engagements. If this support is being misinterpreted as an attempt to suppress the case, I respectfully disagree. I firmly believe that every accused person deserves to be heard”, he stated.
