Dr Dominic Ayine, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice has sent a text message to Good Evening Ghana host Paul Adom Otchere.
The Attorney General sent a message expressing his disappointment over how Paul Adom Otchere was creating a bad impression of him.
According to Dominic Ayine in the text, he is disappointed in the Good Evening Ghana host but is not surprised by his actions.
The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine,
During the Thursday, May 2, 2025, edition of Good Evening Ghana on Metro TV, Dr Dominic Ayine sent a text message to the show, accusing the host of creating a bad impression of him.
He asserted that Paul Adom Otchere is trying to create and that he is attempting to gag Kwame Asare Obeng commonly known as A plus.
Paul Adom-Otchere, who read the text message stated, “Paul, you are putting a slant on the story to give the impression that I am trying to gag A Plus through Dr Sledge. I take exception to that. Please go back and read my press conference statement.
I am disappointed in you but not surprised. I have more integrity than the person you were working with on the Law House contract”.
Adom-Otchere later issued an apology to Dr Ayine and stated he could not recollect his connection with the Law House contract.
“I was working on the Law House contract? Me, I was working on the Law House contract? Attorney General, sorry about that,” he added.
However, speaking at a media briefing on 30 April 2025, Dr Dominic Ayine stated, “A Plus warned me in his post not to do anything silly and threatened to come after me if I did. That is laughable.”
“The threat is laughable because I have nothing to hide. I’m reliably informed that his basis for accusing me of corruption and theft is that I received campaign contributions from a businessman at East Legon known as Dr Sledge and that he also knows the people who donated pickups for my campaign.”
He added, “If receiving donations for your campaign or getting a pickup for campaign purposes is considered theft or corruption, then there are 276 thieves in Parliament, including the person making the allegation himself”.
“If A Plus has any evidence of corruption or thievery against me, I am challenging him today to call a press conference and present it or present it to the police to investigate me.”
Dr Dominic Ayine further asked the media to ask A Plus about the NSS ghost names scandal, saying, “In contrast, the media should ask him about the silly thing which I was about to do which frightened him so much into making that silly post about me. He should be asked what he knows about the National Service ghost names scandal and related matters.
If he can give truthful answers to these questions then Ghanaians will know why he took to social media to do what he did”.
He continued, “Let him be warned. In my hometown, we don’t fear mud being thrown at us. We walk into the mud to deal with the person doing the mudslinging and I’m ready to walk into the mud with A Plus because what I have about him and the National Service Scandal he should come and tell you I am challenging him.
He should come and tell you the media and should stop cowardly hiding behind social media to make baseless allegations against people who have worked hard to earn a reputation”.
Meanwhile, A Plus has fired back at the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine.
According to A Plus, his allegation of bribery and corruption against the Attorney General is that he allegedly sought an amount of GH¢500,000 to bribe the Appointment Committee of Parliament.
A Plus blasted Dr Dominic Ayine, for being an old fool and he is going to reset his brain.
In a post on Facebook, he wrote, “No! That is not true. My information is that you went to beg for 500 thousand cedis, claiming you were going to use it to bribe the Appointment Committee of Parliament. And for your information, you’re not the only one. If you are an old… I’ll reset your brain…man!”
