“When Dzifa said we will succeed because the steer is in your hands I almost said mo mma me steer no. But I realised the steer is already in my hands”. John Mahama stated with him and the crowd breaking into laughter.

The former Vice President Bawumia during his campaign ahead of the 2024 elections is captured in a viral video asking to be handed the steer of Ghana, which was then in the hands of his boss President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

In a viral video, Dr Bawumia held a steer aloft while blowing horns to signify his commitment to the cause as other supporters cheered him on.

Bawumia Dr Bawumia’s “driver’s mate” parallel was suggestive of his readiness to lead the country after serving as Vice President for two terms under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Dr Bawumia has said in various campaign speeches that his journey was akin to a driver’s mate who has learned meaningful lessons while supporting a driver in steering the affairs of the country.

He urged Ghanaians to give him the mandate for the wheels so he could steer the affairs of the nation with the experience and insight he has gained over the past seven years.

“If, by the grace of God, you make me president, I will be in the driver’s seat, with constitutionally mandated authority to pursue my vision and my priorities,” Dr. Bawumia stated.

Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have reacted to the video of John Mahama teasing Dr Bawumia saying, “ lol 😂 hahahahahah Npp go do press conference tomorrow lol 😂”.

“JM and neck pressing deɛɛ ooo daabi da.  JM likes cooking too much 😂😂Bawumia in the mud once more”, another stated.

One X user also stated, “The comic relief is important to release the stress we went through for eight years”.
