A Circuit Court has granted bail totalling GHC13 million to four individuals arrested with 73 slabs of cocaine.

The four were arrested for allegedly attempting to export cocaine through the Swissport terminal at Kotoka International Airport.

The four persons who were earlier detained by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) over 89.74 kilograms of suspected cocaine bound for the Netherlands.

The four freight forwarders have been identified as Gariba Soli, an artefact dealer at the art centre, Josiah Baidoo, Emmanuel Mintah and Kwabena Ampfo Anti.

The four freight forwarders have been charged with counts of attempting to export a narcotic substance without a license, conspiracy and possession of a narcotic substance without a license.

According to reports, the large consignment of suspected cocaine was intercepted at the Swiss Port in Tema.

Reports suggest a routine inspection on Wednesday, April 23, 2024, uncovered the cocaine.

It has been revealed that the cargo, which was being packed to be shipped to the Netherlands, contained concealed substances suspected to be cocaine.

73 slabs of cocaine were intercepted weighing approximately 89.74 kilograms were seized.
