Businessman officially petitioned CID over Ntim Fordjour’s alleged GH₵600,000 fraud

Sylvester Agyen a Ghanaian businessman has petitioned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service over an alleged GH₵600,000 contract fraud involving Ntim Fordjour and two others.

John Ntim Fordjour, the member of parliament for Assin South Constituency in the Central Region and two others has been fingered in a GH₵600,000 cash-for-contract fraud.

The businessman is seeking assistance from the CID to recover GH₵200,000, allegedly owed him by Ntim Fordjour and two others.

Sylvester Agyen in a petition dated February 24, 2025, alleged he was defrauded of GH₵600,000 by Reverend John Ntim-Fordjour, Edmond Oppong-Peprah and Eric Yeboah in attempts to secure a government contract to construct AstroTurf pitch.

According to the petition, Ntim Fordjour and the other two contacted the businessman on March 30, 2024, proposing to aid the award of the said contract for a fee.

The businessman after the offer transferred the full amount to the individuals involved. He stated in his petition, “After three months of waiting, I made enquiries in the Central Region and was shocked to discover that no such contract existed”.

According to the businessman after the confrontation, Ntim Fordjour and the other two agreed to refund the but claims only GH₵400,000 has been repaid with  GH₵200,000 outstanding.

He cried out, “I have made several efforts to contact them, but they have refused to answer my calls or respond to my messages. They have even blocked me, making it extremely difficult to retrieve the rest of my money”.

The businessman in his petition is now calling on the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service to force the perpetrators to refund the outstanding GH₵200,000.
