Dr Phylis Agyeman Nyarko a principal of Abetifi College of Education has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service.
According to reports, the principal has been arrested for allegedly stealing the college mattresses and chairs sent by the Ministry of Education for students.
The resident in the video claimed that the Principal of Abetifi College and a driver colluded to steal the mattresses.
A viral video on social media captured a truckload of the alleged mattresses and chairs she has been accused of stealing.
A man’s voice was heard in the video narrating the whole situation saying, “Yesterday evening, the mattresses that John Mahama to the Abetifi Training College Education for the students to sleep on and plastic chairs the principal the female one and the driving has colluded to steal them.
We don’t even know if they are going to sell them or if they have opened a shop, and we have arrested them. We will not let John Dramani Mahama to fail ever. This is the car the driver has been arrested and he is at the Abetifi Police station”.
He further urged President John Dramani Mahama to investigate the principal for her actions.
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have reacted to the video by saying, “@Harunaiddrisu50
can you send people to look after goods distributed to schools this is becoming too much ..”.
“If this is true, then u think they should be jailed for like 40 yrs to serve as a deterrent to others.
Sometimes I feel the punishment for flouting some laws in Ghana are not enough so people do things without fear”, another wrote.
One more X user wrote, “I said it Ghanaians hhhmmm we are our own enemies just wickedness, thieves and ungrateful people, we see and do evil all the time loke nobody’s business. No wonder whatever Akuffo Addo was doing was normal for them. The reset must go into all institutions,sack them @gheduservice”.
