National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B) has described the Chief Justice’s (CJ) suspension as an ongoing agenda by the Mahama administration to undermine Ghana’s judiciary.
Addressing the CJ’s suspension in a Facebook post, he claimed President Mahama’s move posses a direct threat to the independence of the judiciary.
He claimed the move was a continuation of a political promise made by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2024 election campaign.
Describing the alleged actions as a “constitutional coup d’état,” Nana Boakye called on Ghanaians to rise in defense of the nation’s democratic values and constitutional order.
He urged the public not to remain silent or indifferent, but to speak out, protest, and demonstrate against what he sees as a violent political scheme disguised under constitutional provisions.
He emphasized that protecting the judiciary’s independence is vital to preserving Ghana’s democracy and constitutional rule.
According to him, the time to resist what he termed an “evil agenda” is now.
“The time to SPEAK UP, PROTEST, AGITATE, AND DEMONSTRATE against this violent political agenda clothed in constitutional garment is NOW.
Don’t be indifferent. Be a Citizen” he wrote.
He charged all citizens to stand firm in their role as defenders of the Republic.
