A video has surfaced of President John Dramani Mahama’s arrival at the Ghana Military Academy for the Graduation Parade.
In the viral video shared by Channel One TV, President John Mahama was spotted stepping out in his military uniform all in white.
John Mahama at the event called on newly commissioned officers to uphold the values of responsibility, integrity, and professionalism as they begin their careers in military service.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of officer cadets at the Ghana Military Academy on Friday, April 11, the President stated, “Graduation cadet, today marks the beginning of the beginning of a new chapter in your life. You are no longer officer cadet, you shall soon be officers of the Ghana Armed Forces. The nation looks up to you with expectations, hope and confidence. You are part of the future of the Ghana Armed Forces, your action will shape the destiny of our nation.
“Remember that leadership is not about rank or privilege. Leadership is about responsibility and service. I urge you to live with integrity, courage and compassion. I encourage you to be officers who inspire loyalty. I expect you to be leaders who earn respect and uphold the highest standard of professionalism,” he stated.
John Mahama further promised to improve the conditions of the military, saying, “Dear military personnel and civilian staff, I am determined to systematically improve your conditions of service. GEHOC will be one of our key plants in providing sustainable financing for the Ghana Armed Forces. Your sacrifices deserve recognition.
“For our retired personnel who have sacrificed so much for our nation, we will ensure that your retirement benefits are paid promptly,” President Mahama stated.
