Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene managed to narrowly swerve a blow to his reputation at the ongoing AshantiFest.
During the festivities, Ghanaian self-styled entrepreneur and event planner, Kwame Fordjour, popularly known as Dr UN, attempted to present an award to the Minister.
Dr. UN was seen holding a citation with some pictures of the Regional Minister.
Upon spotting Dr. Amoakohene, Dr. UN attempted to hand over the citation to him, but the minister rejected the award in a nice and polite way.
From the video, it seems the minister after refusing to take the award directed Dr. UN to hand it over to a member of his entourage, but the minister and his team managed to leave Dr. UN behind without anyone taking the citation.
Dr. UN can be remembered as a con man in Ghana following the controversial ‘7th Global Leadership Service to Humanity Awards’ he organized in 2020. During the event, Dr. UN presented plagues labelled as “UN Kofi Annan Excellence Awards” to various personalities in the entertainment, political and business space.
Musicians Sarkodie, D-Black and media personality Berla Mundi and countless other Ghanaians received awards from Dr. UN’s scam.
Not long after the event, it was reveled Dr. UN had no affiliation with the late Kofi Annan or the United Nations, with resulted in a major public debate over the authenticity of the awards.=
Dr. UN’s recent stunt has brought back conversations about his guts and his seeming desire to take advantage of every Ghanaian.
