A driver of ride hailing app, Uber has been spotted falling asleep in a traffic jam.
The stretch on which this incident occurred is yet to be confirmed.
In a video shred on X, an eyewitness gave a detailed account of events.
According to him, the traffic light had turned red and all the cars on the stretch had come to a halt but after the lights turned green, all but one driver remained in the traffic jam, refusing to move.
Suspecting the unfortunate may have happened to the driver, all around, including police officers approached the vehicle and knocked on the side window but the driver was still unresponsive.
After a series of knocks on the glass and yelling, the driver finally woke up. Unbeknownst to the police and residents, the driver who had been working for over 24hours had fallen asleep in the car.
“He was tired. He was sleeping because he had been working for the past 24hours. It is not that Ghanaian youth are lazy. We are just working hard in a wrong country. Just look at this,” the eyewitness stated.
The eyewitness believes the driver was working on a ‘work and pay’ basis to pay for the car, hence making his overwork himself.
After the police managed to wake him up and pulled him over by the side of the road, the driver vehemently rejected the police’s advise for him to take a nap and continue his journey.
This incident has generated a number of comments on social media.
