A 39-year-old woman identified as Ama Serwaa Konadu has been kidnaped by some unknown men, who are demanding a hefty sum of Ghc500,000 for her release.
According to sources, Ama Serwaa Konadu a hairdresser and decorator in Akyem Asiakwa, located in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region has been reported missing for over more than a week.
The victim is said to have gone on an errand to purchase some supplies for her shop but failed to return, causing fear and panic in her family.
However, the family was thrown into a state of further despair after they were sent a video from an unknown number. In the video, Ama Serwaa was heard begging for help, saying she had been kidnapped.
Her kidnapper who had an accent claimed he had kidnapped her and was currently hiding out in Nigeria.
“Your sister is here in Nigeria, give me my money and she will go scot free, don’t give me my money, I will take the money from her body,” her assailant was recorded saying, pointing at the body parts of Ama Serwaa Konadu.
The victim who appeared tied up was heard sobbing in fear while the video was being recorded.
The Ghana Police Service is said to have launched an investigation into the kidnapping in collaboration with the Nigerian police with many praying Ama Serwaa Konadu is found safe and sound.
The video after surfacing on X has generated some conversations, with some doubting the kidnapping story, while others have sympathized with her family.
