Some irate National Democratic Congress (NDC) members have reportedly vandalized the party office in protest of Esther Dwomoh’s nomination as MCE.
In the video shared by Metro TV, tables, chairs and a motorbike at the party office were gathered on the streets with petrol poured on them which was later set on fire.
There have been numerous protests by NDC supporters after President John Mahama nominated his Municipal and District Chief Executives.
A few days ago a pregnant woman was killed in Zabzugu as a youth protested John Mahama’s DCE nomination.
According to reports, the pregnant woman lost her life and two others sustained serious injuries following violent protests in Zabzugu in the Northern Region.
Reports suggest the protest was caused by John Mahama’s nomination of Municipal and District Chief Executives which the youth of Zabzugu opposed.
The youth expressed their displeasure at the nomination of Daniel Lakob Tanei.
In response, they blocked roads and issued threats to destroy party properties and other government institutions.
Despite the intervention of Security personnel the chaos quickly escalated with the youths firing gunshots.
A motorbike rider who was transporting two women one of whom was seven to eight months pregnant was stopped by the youth.
When the motor rider refused to comply, they opened fire, killing the pregnant woman and injuring both the rider and the other woman.
The body of the deceased has since been transported to the Yendi Hospital morgue.
Meanwhile, similar incidents have occurred in the Dormaa East constituency with angry supporters of the National Democratic Congress attacking the party office in Wamfie.
The NDC supporters vandalized party property and set it on fire over the recent nomination of the DCE by President John Dramani Mahama.
According to the supporters, they do not support the nomination of Osei Owusu King by the president, as he is not an indigene of Wamfie and has not contributed enough to deserve the position.
Additionally, some Irate National Democratic Congress (NDC) have stormed and vandalised the party office in Banda over the controversy surrounding the DCE appointment.
In the viral video shared by Metro TV Ghana, the irate youths were captured destroying the party office.
A narrated in the video was heard saying there is no longer NDC in Obuasi anymore. They stated they did not want Pat.
