Hearts of Oak goalkeeper and currently Ghana’s number one goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare, has been spotted sitting in the front seat of a trotro.
In a video shared on X, Benjamin Asare was spotted sitting comfortably in the front seat of the trotro not having a care in the world what others thought of him.
It appears the goalkeeper has been relying on trotro for his daily commute prior to receiving a call up to the senior national team.
The goalkeeper being seen in trotro has also raised questions on how badly players in the Ghana Premier League are paid.
Asare, 32, received his first national team call-up in March and started in Ghana’s 5-0 win over Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 21. He was once again given the starting role in Ghana’s 3-0 victory over Madagascar, helping extend the team’s lead at the top of Group I to five points.
The goalkeeper being seen in the trotro has sparked a lot of reactions online.
