According to a statement signed by DSP Felix Danku of the Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service, a Hyundai bus with registration number GR 8246-Q, traveling from Accra to Benin with passengers onboard, was stopped for a search.

The driver, Abasou Fousseni, aged 45, and his co-driver, Salisu Jalilu, aged 38, were immediately arrested for questioning.
Both men denied any knowledge of the concealed ammunition. However, preliminary investigations pointed to the co-driver as the individual responsible for loading the illicit cargo
Following further enquiries, the driver was granted bail to allow him to continue transporting the passengers to their destination, while the co-driver remains in custody to assist with investigations.
He is expected to be arraigned before court on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
