Owner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Trassaco Estates, Ernesto Taricone has made fun of Ghanaian entrepreneur Daniel McKorley’s (McDan,) claim of how he made his wealth.
McDan recounted his humble beginnings, selling kerosene and deep-fried doughnuts—locally known as bofrot—on the streets of La in the Greater Accra Region. He emphasised that, despite such stories seeming improbable, many people had risen to financial success through sheer determination and hard work.
Reacting to the story in an X post, Ernesto Taricone in a form of mockery, also shared his success story.
He also revealed he started his real estate business by building sand castles on the beach.
“I also started by filling bags of cement with the shovel I used to make sand castles on the beach, then I read in Mickey Mouse magazine that by adding water and other ingredients to those bags of cement I could make concrete, and that’s how Trasacco Valley was born….” he wrote.
His post has generated a lot of conversations on social media with some joining him mock McDan, while others have mounted a spirited defense for McDan.

@KSnetne – I blame you Oyibo people for all the fooling in GH
@terra_unitedd – This tackle is definitely coming Gattuso
@Sammer_Rity – McDan didn’t say he made his money through selling Bofrot and kerosene on the street. Maybe when he was a kid, he used run it for his mum.
@wizsahad – lol and how much money did you used to buy cement n the ingredients
@Chelsea4everA – This is rough tackle
@abu_internetz – Mocking other Ghanaian people as a white man who profited of this country is wild
@obed_anini – I don’t understand why people criticize rich people when they mention the kind of jobs they used to do when they were poor? Right now see all the things Adey do. In the future let me say that I sold chichinga and let me hear pim
@airtornam – Off target! He didn’t say he sold those to make his money!!! He simply wanted to say he had a pretty not too rosy upbringing and that’s normal of any Ghanaian child who grew up in the village. Again off target Mr. Consul of Italy
@Jerry1876722 – Stinking jealousy…..you have benefited from Ga lands which belong to his people.
@dennis_eyram – This cracked me up for real
