Two persons have been confirmed dead, with one in critical condition at Kumasi-Patasi in the Ashanti Region.
According to reports the incident happened after a school bus belonging to Palmar International School lost control due to brake failure and crashed into a storey building and a shop at Kumasi-Patasi.

Meanwhile, another incident involving a school bus transporting 62 students, staff, and parents from Ben Kunadu SDA Basic School in Asante Akyem for an excursion to Akosombo somersaulted some weeks ago.
According to reports the school bus somersaulted several times after the driver was descending a hill and lost control on the Adukrom-Somanya highway in the Eastern Region, leaving two people a parent and a student dead on the spot.
Some Ghanaians have reacted to the tragedy saying, “Ghana education service must inspect all school buses especially that of private schools to only approve those in good conditions. Typical of Ghanaians, we see most private school buses are not in good condition and even how they pack kids inside is appalling”.
“When was the last maintenance done? These are questions police should ask when investigating. Most of the vehicles are barely maintained and always break down as a result. Running a school is difficult, schools that cannot maintain vehicles should outsource their transportation”, another stated.
One X user also stated, “Most cars in Ghana are not road-worthy. If I were the roads minister, DVLA would see a massive shake-up to clear off half of the vehicles on Ghanaian roads”.
Additionally, another added, “What’s all this things regarding this school buses recently? It’s sad to hear about your child being involved in a fatal accident knowing very well that he left for school peacefully”.
