Ecobank’s decision to use the rapper’s look-alike for the campaign did not sit well with him. Sarkodie and his team have dragged the bank to court for defamation, as he insists the bank using a look alike of his for the campaign causes damage to his brand.
According to court documents, Sarkodie is seeking general damages, a permanent injunction to prevent the bank from further using his image, and an order for the removal of all related publications, including digital and print materials.
The bank, in a defamation suit, is to appear before the court for interrogation within 8 days.
It is noted that the bank’s failure to appear before the court will go a long way to affect them in judgment.
