Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe also known as Abronye DC, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of bribing JoyNews presenter, Samson Anyenini to disgrace Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour.
He claimed the government was suffering disgrace from the drug trafficking and money laundering expose being revealed by Ntim Fordjour, and needed to clip the MPs wings.
According to him, the NDC decided to contract Samson Anyenini to disgrace Ntim Fordjour and prevent him from holding the NDC accountable for the suspicious Airmed flights.
Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour has denied claims of him walking out of a live show with Samson Ayenini, host of the Newsfile on JoyNews.
According to him, Samson Ayenini and Sammy Gyamfi put out false information which he is not taken to kindly.
In a post on his X page, Ntim Fordjour stated categorically, “I never walked out of Newsfile contrary to what Samson Ayenini and Sammy Gyamfi put out.”
Ntim Fordjour explained that he been scheduled for a particular segment of the show and only left the studio after his segment was done, to make room for another guest.
“I was billed for only a particular segment and was told another panelist was billed to take over after my segment. I left after my segment fully concluded and break was taken for me to exit while my replacement walked in to take her seat.”
He further explained that while he was exiting the “biased” and “hostile” interview with Samson Ayenini, Sammy Gyamfi who was also there at the time captured him on camera “and broadcasted falsely on his WhatsApp with claims of me walking out the show.”
Ntim Fordjour who was pained but what Samson Ayenini did next after the break poured his heart out, noting that the host prior to him (Ntim Fordjour) walking into the studio held a prejudicial stance.
“Listen to what Samson said about me before I entered the studio, and while I was in the studio and conclude, what he’s capable of saying when I exited. He pronounced me guilty, to shut up, jail-bound and all sorts of inappropriate false pronouncements, clearly not hiding his prejudices to smear me.”
“So please disregard his claim and the false video of Sammy Gyamfi – it was staged, not coincidence. I stayed through the full segment I was billed for and exited after,” he reiterated.
Reacting to the incident, Abronye described Samson Anyenini as a thief, adding, “He receieved $50,000 on Friday night to call Ntim Fordjour and disgrace him on live TV. He was given $50,000 and told that the cocaine issue was disgracing the party so he should find ways and means to disgrace Ntim Fordjour.”
The Minority Caucus in parliament has raised concerns over the increasing incidents of piracy, drug trafficking, and money laundering in Ghana.
Speaking at a press briefing, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, Ranking Member on the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament, highlighted the urgent need to preserve Ghana’s reputation as one of the most peaceful countries in Africa.
Rev. Fordjour stated, “Ghana in the past eight years, had been ranked favorably by notable global organizations as the second most peaceful country in Africa in respect of crime rate and globally, ahead of Australia and Canada.
“It is therefore imperative that under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, Ghana continues to be safe and not degenerate into a safe haven for pirates, drug trafficking and money laundering.”
The Minority also revealed concerns about two suspicious flights—AirMed Flight N823AM and Cavok Air Antonov An-12B—that recently landed at Kotoka International Airport from Gran Canaria, a location known for drug trafficking and money laundering. Intelligence suggests these flights carried suspected cocaine and cash.
The Minority demanded full disclosure of the cargo contents to assure Ghanaians of airspace security.
