Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the former Communications Manager for the Dr Mahamudu Bawumia campaign has told President John Dramani Mahama he can remove all Supreme Court Judges and appoint his wife Lordina Mahama and other NDC bigwigs.
According to Dennis Miracles Aboagye, maybe doing that will make the NDC satisfied with the work of the Judiciary.
His comment comes after President Mahama suspended the Chief Justice following a prima facie case being determined against her by the Council of State.
Speaking on Peace FM on Thursday, April 24, 2025, Miracles Aboagye stated, “When this issue started, I was eager to hear their (NDC’s) justification for what they were doing.
I listened to my senior man, and I realized that perhaps we should stop discussing this matter. If they want, they can remove all the Supreme Court judges and appoint Lordina Mahama, Kwamena Ahwoi, and all the NDC bigwigs as Supreme Court judges. Maybe that will satisfy them”.
He further accused the NDC forebearers of supervising the kidnapping and murder of three High Court judges.
He added, “Do you recall that these are the same people whose forbearers supervised the kidnapping and murder of three High Court judges? These are the same group of people. To this day, we haven’t uncovered the full truth behind those events.
In fact, some members of the current NDC government and party were alive then. Some of them were even members of that regime. That incident was gruesome. No petition was written for anyone’s removal, they just vanished into thin air”.
According to Dennis Miracles Aboagye the Chief Justice is fortunate that a gun was not pointed to her head and she is still alive.
“So, I think the Chief Justice is fortunate that a gun wasn’t pointed to her head to remove her and that she is still alive”, he shockingly added.
Additionally, Kwesi Pratt Jr the Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper has quizzed why there have been so many petitions sent to the presidency for the removal of suspended Chief Justice Her Ladyship Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.
The seasoned journalist noted that for the first time in Ghana’s history, five petitions have gone to the presidency for the removal of the Chief Justice.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana, Kwesi Pratt stated, “All of us or many people are talking about the contents of the petitions that went to the President.
“I count four—actually five. And then I ask myself: what is it with this Chief Justice that, for the first time in our history, five petitions have gone to the presidency for her removal? Something must be wrong. What is it? Is it her conduct? What has necessitated this?”
Meanwhile, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Old Tafo has filed a motion at the Supreme Court to halt the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkonoo.
The member of parliament is seeking the Supreme Court to halt the suspension of the Chief Justice over claims President Mahama had violated due process.
