Some renowned Journalists have landed juicy roles in some public institutions following John Mahama’s assuming office as president.
Dr. Randy Abbey, Journalist and football administrator was named the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).
The popular television host Randy Abbey officially stepped down from his role as the Managing Director of Ignite Media Group (IMG), the parent company of Metro TV, Original TV, and Original FM, on December 31, 2024.
He is renowned as the host of the widely watched Good Morning Ghana show on Metro TV and is also resigning from his position on the board of Ignite Media Group.
Another to follow suit is, Raymond Acquah a seasoned broadcaster with Joy FM landed a major role as a Technical Advisor in Strategic Communications at the Finance Ministry.
In his new role, Raymond will lead efforts to enhance public engagement and formulate the communications strategy.
In an internal memo dated March 11, 2025, and signed by the Chief Director at the Ministry, Eva Eseelba Mends, his appointment was communicated.
Also, Emefa Apawu a prominent face associated with the Multimedia Group Limited, has been tapped for a government role.
Emefa Apawu landed a role at the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation as its new Corporate Affairs Manager.
Paa Kwesi Asare the winner of the BBC Komla Dumor Award in 2023 and a former employee with TV3, has also landed a new job at the Bank of Ghana (BoG). He has joined the monetary policy regulator’s Communications Department.
Prince Kwame Minkah, the Power FM broadcaster has also landed a role at the Ghana Goldbod. He is to serve as the Public Relations Officer at the state institution.
Additionally, GHOne’s Lantam Papanko has also been appointed to the Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) as the Corporate Affairs Manager.
