Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh the 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) running mate has boldly claimed Ghanaians are already feeling the absence of the NPP.

According to Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the only obstacle to the NPP’s return to office would be the internal division and added that a fragmented party, no matter how strong its Flagbearer, stands no chance of winning elections.

In a post on his Facebook Page, the former member of parliament wrote, “In the early hours of Thursday, April 24, 2025, I had the privilege of meeting with the NPP Regional Chairman for Bono East and his constituency chairmen in Wenchi.

The meeting was an opportunity to express my deepest sense of gratitude for their unflinching support and leadership, even in the face of our recent loss”.

He added, “During our discussions, I reminded them that the strength of a united party is essential for victory in 2028.

I pointed out that the absence of the NPP has already been felt by the people of Ghana, and the only obstacle to our success would be internal division. A fragmented party, no matter how strong its Flagbearer, stands no chance of winning elections.

I emphasized the critical role these leaders play in fostering unity within our ranks. They must stand firm against any forces that aim to divide us. United, we stand tall; divided, we fall!”.

Matthew Opoku Prempeh further reaffirmed his commitment to a united NPP and the hard work ahead as we strive to reclaim power in 2028.

Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have reacted to the comments made by Matthew Opoku Prempeh saying, “ This is your problem as a leader. Picking and choosing who you want to meet in the party is always a problem. These same crop of people are the reasons there was so much apathy in the party. If you want to learn anything from any region or Constituency, make sure you meet all the executives in that Constituency or region. I bet you will have a vast knowledge of the party than meeting few greedy people who will hide the truth from you.

“Men hearts are deceiving them, we the Ghanaian citizens are more enlightened and wise this time, no chance for NPP again never, write it down and remember me when you fall in 2028 again, even if NDC use a stone for their flagbearaship they will win NPP candidate”, another Facebook user stated.

One netizen also stated, “It’s good to unite…but wait oo who told you Ghanaians are missing Npp? When indeed we’re enjoying proactive and solid governance under the second coming of JM… Npp has a long way to go with the cracks in the party.”
