The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has revealed they are going to ask the John Mahama government some 26 questions regarding the allegations of suspicious flights at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
According to the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong the NPP has assembled a set of 26 crucial questions the government must answer.
Justin Kodua Frimpong made this known in an interview on Channel One TV on Sunday, 6th April.
He stated, “There are about 26 questions that we are asking the government to explain. We will make those 26 questions available to the people of Ghana”.
“However, what the party is going to discuss is the running issue with respect to the alleged drug trafficking in our country, which the rank and file of our party have expressed its disappointment and the worrying behaviour of this government.”
“The several mind-boggling questions that we are expecting the government to explain to the people of Ghana and also the inconsistencies in its attempt to sweep under the carpet several issues that concern or surround the alleged drug trafficking in our airport”, he added.
Rev John Ntim Fordjour during a press conference alleged that two suspicious flights AirMed Flight N823AM and Cavok Air Antonov An-12B recently landed at Kotoka International Airport from Gran Canaria, a location known for drug trafficking and money laundering. Intelligence suggests these flights carried suspected cocaine and cash.
The Minority demanded full disclosure of the cargo contents to assure Ghanaians of airspace security.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications stated the Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, Rev John Ntim Fordjour for peddling total falsehoods and lies.
According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Rev John Ntim Fordjour was peddling falsehood in a bid to undermine the goodwill the government is enjoying from Ghanaians.
According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the fact that they exist varies completely from the claims that Ntim Fordjour made.
He further alleged that the MP has since distanced himself after he was invited to assist with the investigation.
Justin Kodua Frimpong also noted that Adwoa Safo who was scheduled to appear before the NPP executive was not for a disciplinary hearing.
He added, “There will be a meeting at the NPP headquarters, but definitely I am going to disappoint you—it is not going to be a discussion on whether or not Adwoa Safo is going to appear before a disciplinary committee”,
“The party will instead focus on the worrying behaviour of this government and the many unanswered questions surrounding the alleged drug trafficking activities at our airports”, he added.
