A man has been swindled of $90,000 in a gold deal gone bad in Ghana.
According to the victim, a group of three (3) men swapped the real gold he bought from them with fools gold after he had inspected the merchandize.
In a video shared on X, the man can be heard calling on Ghanaians to help him identify the men who scammed him of $90,000.
“Attention good citizens of Ghana, please help me identify these gentlemen you see in the video. I think they are very bad people and are criminals. They have defrauded me of $90,000.”
Sharing the story, he began, “In fact the story is I wanted to buy some gold from them and they told me they are miners and I wanted to buy some gold from them. So, I gave them a deposit of $90,000 and was supposed to take hold of 5kilos of gold and then I would go with one of their partners to sell the gold and give them their balance. Now, when I paid them the money I think they switched the gold on us and gave me a fake gold.”
He added that the men are currently on the run as the police is hunting for them.
“Their phones have been turned off and they have taken the $90,000 and are on the run.”
The victim disclosed that the main culprit is one Ernest Achemapong who was in the company of another named, Thomas Asare.
He explained that their scam was an elaborate one and called on the public to assist him find them, offering a $2,000 reward for their arrest.
His misfortune has generated some conversations on social media with some sympathizing with him, while others chastised him for taking such a deal.
