Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the member of parliament for Old Tafo has boldly claimed that President John Dramani Mahama is making a lot of mistakes as president.
According to Vincent Ekow Assafuah, John Mahama is not governing the country well.
He asserted that Ghanaians for now are more interested in the moralistic aspects of governance.
Speaking in an interview with Oyerapa TV, Vincent Ekow Assafuah stated, “John Mahama is making a lot of mistakes and is not governing well. He is governing so poorly, but Ghanaians, as we speak, are more interested in the moralistic aspects of governance.
For example, when the president attended an event and saw some chiefs, he asked them to sit down and greet him”, he stated.
Vincent Ekow Assafuah further added, “How is that development? The president has written in the budget that he cannot recruit anyone this year. So, if you are a young man or woman who is happy that the regional minister has posted something on social media, is that governance? We are just focusing on trivialities. We are not concerned with the core of what governance really is.”
The member of parliament further asked Ghanaians to point out what a monumental thing the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene has done that merits being celebrated.
The member of parliament revealed that he likes Dr Frank Amoakohene’s spirit and the fact that he was in student politics.
According to Ekow Assafuah Ghana’s politics must not be cheapen.
Vincent Ekow Assafuah stated, “I like his spirit, I like the fact that all of us did student politics and we are here today. I like the fact that he understands what he is doing.
Within the past three months Ghanaians let us stop that, what has the minister done that is monumental or significant enough that has helped Ghanaians for us to celebrate him? Let us not cheapen our politics, on social media… ” he stated.
Dr Frank Amoakohene has been celebrated by many Ghanaians for his hard work after he was appointed the Ashanti Regional minister by John Mahama.
Meanwhile under the video Ghanaians have fired shots at the member of parliament, saying, “ What has @ekowassafuah_done in the first three months of his mpship? Sometimes we just need to ignore such characters”.
“Ghanaians can’t decide for themselves or think for themselves, right? & you that’s so useless want to think for us?! Tell us just one ordinary thing you have done in your constituency so we can consider giving you attention?! Wonim Red? ‼️”, another stated.
One X user also stated, “The moment they start hating on someone, just know that the person is doing something that they know very well is beneficial to the masses”.
Additionally another asked, “ What significant achievements have you @ekowassafuah_ made for your constituents? Had high hopes for you, but you have been a disappointment. Your roads are in terrible condition, and the only government hospital in your constituency is facing serious challenges”.
“Forget the politics bro.. the Ashanti Regional minister is very open and welcomes all..that alone doesn’t really happen here most times regardless of the party”, an extra social media user stated.
