The Ranking Member for Defense and Interior Rev Ntim Fordjour has stated if he wanted hype he would have dropped a hit gospel song.
According to him, the minority is exercising their oversight particularly to ensure our country is safe.
He noted that in less than three months we have had more than half of a billion bust in high-profile cocaine under the Mahama government.
Speaking on Channel One TV, Ntim Fordjour stated, “If I wanted to be popular I would have released the biggest gospel hit, I would have had a bigger viewership.
It has nothing to do with it, it is a minority decision, to exercise our oversight and particularly to ensure our country is safe, In less than three months we have had more than half of a billion bust in high-profile cocaine in less than three months of President Mahama’s tenure”.
He added, “We have seen high-profile busts of 20-footer containers containing gold, and currencies in less than two months we heard a cocaine bust in Takoradi relating to an NDC parliamentary candidate.
We have had suspicious flights coming in and going and so it is concerning and the minority is concerned and is asking questions, one what is the status of the gold bust the National security themselves accompanied themselves with media they like, cameras they went to show the people of Ghana and the world how they fish out money laundering, illegal entry into the country and illicit cargo, they showed it clear two months on we are asking what has become of that raid”, the MP stated.

Intelligence suggests these flights carried suspected cocaine and cash.
The Minority demanded full disclosure of the cargo contents to assure Ghanaians of airspace security which the government disclosed but Ntim Fordjour has still insisted in the statement posted on Social media on Thursday, April 4, 2025, described the government’s explanations about two flights linked to illicit cargo as “incoherent and questionable,” casting doubts on their legitimacy.
However, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications has tackled the Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, Rev John Ntim Fordjour for peddling total falsehoods and lies.
According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Rev John Ntim Fordjour was peddling falsehood in a bid to undermine the goodwill the government is enjoying from Ghanaians.
Over the weekend he also released photos and video of the claimed aircraft.
Felix Kwakye stated, “These pictures show engineers fixing damaged tyres on the landing gear of Air Med Aircraft at the Kotoka International Airport. The damaged parts and engineers were brought in by a different aircraft, reason why it stayed here for five days. Don’t let anyone lie to you”.
