An older Ghanaian man who has lived abroad for the last thirty (30) years has expressed his desire to relocate back to Ghana.
Although it is a burning desire to relocate to Ghana, he shared some fears which has prevented him from doing so.
In a video shared on X, the man can be heard saying, “To be honest I am tired of staying abroad. I am tired. I have been here for 30 years and even though I want to leave I am thinking about my children.”
He disclosed that his last two children, 17 and 21 years respectively are still in school and are the reason he cannot relocate back to Ghana at the moment.
“My last born a girl is now 17 years my third child is 21 years, and they have not completed school. But when I leave them too then their life will get difficult. They are not even working to pay for rent and live on their own. I am tired of living in abroad,” he added.
The man further expressed his wish to go back to the village and cultivate farmlands his parents left him so he can enjoy fresh farm produce.
His dilemma has received a number comments from netizens. With some wishing they were not in his situation.

@MalawiPage – Africans have all the excuses in the world why they can not return home to Africa. The truth is, they can not afford to relocate back. Slaves who are used to toil full time and be fed by their masters do not have time to perfect their minds to be creative & self-sufficient.
@EdRes_LearnEarn – Navigating life abroad can be challenging, especially when balancing cultural identities. It’s crucial to weigh options and seek supportive communities. Returning home can be daunting, but it might offer a fresh start and a chance to reconnect with one’s roots.
@Nanaezze – Some of the sacrifices sometimes go beyond you. But this should be a reminder that if you hope to return home one day, start planning and working hard towards it. Not until the last minute.
@Adwoakyeraaba – Inconsistency. Ghanaians are pathological liars by nature
@TeChurches – The sad thing is his children will never come to Ghana They are Germans now, come to Ghana and enjoy your farmlands get some sweet woman beside you and enjoy your life.
@AfiMeg – Masre Fanfooling paa. I thought he was going to say his kids are 5 and 10 years old.
@BenzemaaBa – Someone should tell this man that we don’t care about him
@MrCute_gh – Am lost and confused is just like saying you are hungry but you don’t know the food to eat meaning you are not hungry this man is just trying to chase clouts
@twitGhana – So what does he want us to do now ?
@lamKingArthur – Why don’t you send your kids there n you return home
@stephenmensah75 – He means he cant afford SOS-Herman and Ashesi University for them ? Then he waste 32 years in Germany
@DanielKwasiKpeg – He should go home to rest. His kids will be OK. They can still go to school in Ghana and get German or any other country’s scholarship.
@mybismark – You have lived in Germany for 32 years but you are living there like someone who has gone to Germany on a business trip. How can you enjoy in Germany
