Alhaji Masawudu Osman, third Vice National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has revealed he intentionally pushed TV3’s microphone.
According to Alhaji Masawudu Osman, Media General has been unfair to the NPP and they should stay in their corner and the NPP do their own thing.
He asserted that he deliberately pushed the TV3 microphone down to signal the party’s disinterest in engaging with them.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Ashh FM, Alhaji Osman Masawudu strongly defended his actions, “It’s not the case that my hand accidentally hit the microphone to the floor. I intentionally pushed it to the floor.
I was the one who pushed it to the floor because we do not need them at our programme. The way they [Media General] have been unfair to us—they should stay in their corner and allow us to do our thing. They shouldn’t come to any of our events”, he added.
He further warn NPP part communicator not to appear on any Media General platform, “As I am talking now, if any communicator from the NPP appears on their platform, we are going to suspend that communicator.”
A video surfaced of Alhaji Masawudu Osman pushing Media General’s TV3 microphone to the floor at a press conference.
In the viral video shared on social media, Alhaji Masawudu Osman pushed TV3’s microphone which was part of others in front of Justin Kodua, Afenyo Markin, Nana Boakye and himself.
Afenyo Markin and Nana Boakye at the press conference were stunned by Alhaji Masawudu Osman’s action.
This comes after Johnnie Hughes on his show taunted the NPP over their boycott of all Media General platforms.
Johnnie Hughes stated, “I came back with renewed energy tell them I am back, you say you have boycotted a Media house when they extend the microphone to you, you speak into it. When they do stories you go and share it but you have boycotted. Do you understand your boycott or cancellation means review are you still in that state?”
It will be recalled the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has withdrawn from all Media General’s platforms, including TV3, 3 FM, and Onua FM.
The party’s communications director, Richard Ahiagbah communicated through a press release issued on January 26 made this known.
According to the NPP, this follows months of supposed failed attempts to address concerns over biased and unprofessional conduct by Media General hosts and management.
