The Koforidua High Court has thrown out an election petition against the declaration of the Member of Parliament for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency Frank Annoh-Dompreh as the winner of the seat in the 2024 general election.
The petition was thrown out on Thursday 10 April 2025 following an application filed by Gary Nimako Marfo Esq the Director of Legal Affairs of the New Patriotic Party.
His Lordship Krofa Addae who was the presiding Judge dismissed the case stating the court found no merit in the petitioner’s claims as the results declared by the Electoral Commission displayed the true will of the people of Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency.
The judge awarded a cost of GH¢25,000 against the petitioner.
Amenorpe Philibert Fummey, the parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was the plaintiff in the case.
Meanwhile, Frank Annoh-Dompreh in an interview some months ago stated what happened in the 2024 December elections in Nsawam-Adoagyiri was a war, not an election.
Frank Annoh-Dompreh denied the allegation of firing a gun at his opponent in the December polls leading to one person being hospitalized.
According to the member of parliament, he has never shot a gun before.
He asserted that the soldiers who were protecting him rather fired warning shots to disperse the crowd.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show Annoh Dompreh detailed, “I have never shot a gun before. The soldiers who were protecting me only fired warning shots to disperse the crowd. They threw a stone at my car gate, and if not for God’s intervention, it would have hit me. The soldiers had to run for their lives”.
“It was a well-rehearsed plan by the NDC, targeted at snatching my seat. But I stood my ground and emerged victorious”, he added.
He added that his saviour in the 2024 election was his pink sheet.
“In the midst of all the attacks, I won. My saviour was my pink sheet”, Annoh Dompreh stated boldly.
