A video has surfaced on social media of the Founder of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim (Angel Obinim) detailing the types of oil in his church and their prices.
According to Bishop Daniel Obinim, his church members who pay 1000 cedis receive green, those who give 500 cedis receive yellow oil and those who pay 200 cedis also receive blue colour anointing oil.
He however revealed that he was going to organise an anointing service using the 1000 cedis oil which is green but is going to reduce the price to 100 cedis for every member of his congregation to be able to afford it.
Speaking to his congregation, Bishop Daniel Obinim stated, “I will organise an anointing service for everyone, but the anointing service for those who give offertory 1000 cedis and sponsor TV programs the oil given to them is green in colour. Those who give an offertory 500 cedis are given a yellow one, and those who give 200 cedis will get a blue colour.
Every oil given to people who give has their colours, but for this anointing service, I want to use the 1000 cedis people oil so I will reduce the price to 100 cedis. It won’t be the blue colour one which is for 200 cedis and it will not also be the 500 cedis yellow oil”.
He further added, “I remember a woman came to me to help in God’s work, and she gave me 1000 cedis but I gave him yellow oil when I gave her the yellow oil she was just looking at it and said I helped 1000 cedis and not 500 cedis so the yellow is 500 cedis”.
Some Ghanaians on X have reacted to the video shared by SIKAOFFICIAL saying, “ Religion is the reason we are here now, our moms are locked up with mental slavery.”.
Another Ghanaian stated, “It’s frustrating to see people dismiss the positive impact of religion based solely on negative examples they encounter online. While it’s true that there are some churches that operate more like businesses than places of faith, it’s unfair to generalize and attack all religious”.
One user also stated, “High level of scamming and the opposite genders will always fall victim”.
“Same oil and he intentionally added colours just to tune the member’s mind that one works better than the others. Naa Obinim be intelligent”, another added.
Additionally, an X user urged Christian believers not to lose their faith because of Bishop Obinims video, saying, “Don’t be deceived..” we have good doctors and azarr doctors as well but we still go to the hospital” ..if you are a believer, don’t lose your faith because of these bishops”.
