Alexander Twum Barimah, the Deputy Director-General of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has called on the Ranking Member of the Defence Committee Rev. John Ntim Fordjour to cooperate with NACOC on his allegations of “suspicious flights.”
The Deputy Director-General of NACOC noted that for them to get to the root of the matter the Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev John Ntim Fordjour must fully cooperate with them.
Speaking on JOY NEWS Alexander Twum Barimah stated, “I will advise my good friend and brother that he should cooperate with us if he really wants us to get to the root of this matter”.
“To apprehend or arrest any other person who is involved in his so-called suspicious act, he should cooperate with us, the security agencies, to make sure that we get the appropriate or required information and act on it,” he added.
Rev John Ntim Fordjour in a press conference alleged that two suspicious flights AirMed Flight N823AM and Cavok Air Antonov An-12B recently landed at Kotoka International Airport from Gran Canaria, a location known for drug trafficking and money laundering. Intelligence suggests these flights carried suspected cocaine and cash.
He stated, “Reliable intelligence intercepted by the minority indicates that on March 20, 2025, AirMed flight N823AM, which is an air ambulance, and I must stress, it’s an air ambulance, designed specifically to carry patients landed at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana and remained in the country for five days before departing on March 25 back to Gran Canaria.”
The Minority demanded full disclosure of the cargo contents to assure Ghanaians of airspace security which the government disclosed but Ntim Fordjour has still insisted in the statement posted on Social media on Thursday, April 4, 2025, described the government’s explanations about two flights linked to illicit cargo as “incoherent and questionable,” casting doubts on their legitimacy.
After these concerns were raised by Ntim Fordjour, President John Dramani Mahama, him to collaborate with the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), the Police CID, the National Investigations Bureau (NIB), and the National Security Coordinator to immediately investigate his claims.
Ntim Fordjour however refused to collaborate with the above-mentioned agencies.
However, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications has tackled the Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, Rev John Ntim Fordjour for peddling total falsehoods and lies.
According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Rev John Ntim Fordjour was peddling falsehood in a bid to undermine the goodwill the government is enjoying from Ghanaians.
Over the weekend he also released photos and video of the claimed aircraft.
Felix Kwakye stated, “These pictures show engineers fixing damaged tyres on the landing gear of Air Med Aircraft at the Kotoka International Airport. The damaged parts and engineers were brought in by a different aircraft, reason why it stayed here for five days. Don’t let anyone lie to you”.
