Some Ghanaians on social media have reacted to the Ranking Member for Defense and Interior Rev Ntim Fordjour’s announcement of airing the first part of the alleged Gran Canaria flights exposé today.
According to the member of parliament for Assin South Ntim Fordjour’s post on X, part one of the Gran Canaria flights exposé will be aired today.
In a post of X, he wrote, “Suspicious Gran Canaria Flights Exposé Part 1 to be aired today. Please stay tuned!”
Netizens on social media for days now have been mocking Rev John Ntim Fordjour after his press conference alleging that two suspicious flights AirMed Flight N823AM and Cavok Air Antonov An-12B recently landed at Kotoka International Airport from Gran Canaria, a location known for drug trafficking and money laundering. Intelligence suggests these flights carried suspected cocaine and cash.
The Minority demanded full disclosure of the cargo contents to assure Ghanaians of airspace security which the government disclosed but Ntim Fordjour has still insisted in the statement posted on Social media on Thursday, April 4, 2025, described the government’s explanations about two flights linked to illicit cargo as “incoherent and questionable,” casting doubts on their legitimacy.
However, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications has tackled the Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, Rev John Ntim Fordjour for peddling total falsehoods and lies.
According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Rev John Ntim Fordjour was peddling falsehood in a bid to undermine the goodwill the government is enjoying from Ghanaians.
Over the weekend he also released photos and video of the claimed aircraft.
Felix Kwakye stated, “These pictures show engineers fixing damaged tyres on the landing gear of Air Med Aircraft at the Kotoka International Airport. The damaged parts and engineers were brought in by a different aircraft, reason why it stayed here for five days. Don’t let anyone lie to you”.
Some netizens under his post have since reacted to his announcement, one tagged the NDC-led government under John Dramani Mahama as a cocaine government.
Meanwhile, Ghanaians on social media have been divided in opinions with some supporting Ntim Fordjour and calling the NDC government a cocaine government, while others have called him out for not releasing evidence to necessary security services and see how the investigation will go.
According to an X user, he questioned what the MP sought to achieve, “ What are you trying to achieve with all this? Give evidence to security agencies, you won’t. You prefer to show an exposé. Are you serving the interest of Ghana or your own interest? Anyway, we are waiting. Better not waste our time”.

Where did the cocaine pass during President Kuffour’s era?
Those ones we saw footages of the cocaine.
You people want us to believe a mere suspicion. As you about to do this we need pictures of the cocaine and money you claimed was in the planes…
A concern citizen….— Friction_suanyansa (@OwusuIsaac32396) April 7, 2025
Why don’t you release this evidence with the necessary security services and watch how investigation will go or why don’t you liase with them for proper investigation then this kind of mediocre political gymnastics?
— SPRM 🇬🇭🇬🇧 (@pastor_mensah) April 7, 2025
This is the first reason this particular party will remain in opposition forever . This a mere fabrication thrown to the public and mind you Ghanaians are beyond this kind of politics . You guys think you can capitalize on this for something . I guess you people are not prepared

You had all the opportunities to make your case and table your evidence for investigation but due to propaganda, you decided to go on this tangent. @JDMahama pls jail this so-called Rev. We need to stop this nonsense henceforth.

Hmmm, where lies our integrity as men of God, when we have allowed political affiliation….we can now lie through our teeth, just to score political points against an opponent party without any justification…..where lies credibility in the clergy?????
