The information gathered reveals the Member of Parliament for Pusiga, Laadi Ayii Ayamba has fleed for her life after gunmen attacked her private residence in Pusiga.
According to the information shared by Alfred Ocansey, people did not know Hajia Laadi was in Pusiga at the time of this particular incident.
Alfred Ocansey narrating the news on TV3 Keypoint stated, “We are getting information that some people who are close to Hajia Laadi have just given us notice that she had to flee for safety. Many did not even know that she was in Pusiga at the time of this particular incident.
So she was in the house and had to flee for her dear life. The video you are seeing are the bullet-raiding doors leading to her house the private residence of the Pusiga member of parliament. So this is the information that we have, certainly it does not look good”.
The NDC MP and member of the Appointments Committee recently drew online ridicule for continually congratulating nominees and ending her remarks with “bye-bye” without posing questions.
The attack comes following a Police commander’s residence in Bawku in the Upper East Region being burnt with one person reported dead.
ACP Adamu Seidu, the Bawku Divisional Police Commander, was set ablaze by suspected assailants on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
According to reports, tensions arose once again when members of one faction demanded that women from another faction vacate a local market. The confrontation resulted in the police swiftly intervening to restore calm in the market.
However, the situation deteriorated when some youths allegedly opened fire on officers, leading to an exchange of gunfire. During the exchange of gunfire, one civilian was fatally wounded, while two others sustained severe injuries.
Some police officers and an immigration officer sustained gunshot injuries and are receiving medical treatment.
Reports indicate that the Majority leader’s residence was also attacked by youth pelting stones, and breaking windows and other parts of the building.
The assault accelerated into an arson attack the following morning.
Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II mediation process will deliver lasting peace in Bawku.
President Mahama at the Graduation Parade of the Ghana Military Academy revealed that the Otumfuo has assured him the mediation process will resume next week when he returns from his brief visit abroad.
Speaking at the Graduation Parade of the Ghana Military Academy on Friday, April 11, 2025, President Mahama detailed, “The Ghana Armed Forces is engaged in several threats to maintain peace and security in our nation. One major flash point is the Bawku area. Only two days ago, a situation that took place in the market triggered an unfortunate loss of life and criminal vandalism of property. I wish to emphasise that nobody gains from this conflict and insecurities”.
“We have triggered the Otumfuo mediation process, which has all the stakeholders to ensure a roadmap towards peace. I am assured by the Asantehene that the process will resume next week when he returns from his brief visit abroad,” he stated.
