Speaking at the Takoradi Technical University Auditorium during the NPP’s Thank You tour, Kennedy Agyapong stated, “If we ever stand a chance to unite, I charge the national executives to grant amnesty to Afoko, Alan and everybody who has been suspended by the party. Let’s recall them to the party and unite”

“I will stand on behalf of the NPP party to apologize to everybody NPP has offended.

“What I am talking about is not about ego. It is about peace. It should not be difficult for any of us here to admit we have wronged a lot of our party people, hence their decision not to vote for us”, he added.

Alan Kyerematen after the NPP’s primaries defeat left to form the Movement for Change, to contest the 2024 general election as an independent candidate

Paul Afoko was accused by party supporters of undermining Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s chances of winning the 2016 elections.

He was subsequently indefinitely suspended in 2015 while serving as the party’s Chairman.

Kennedy Agyapong had stated even if the NPP brought Jesus Christ as a flagbearer without unity they could not win.

According to Kennedy Agyapong, the party keeps preaching unity but the way things are going will be tough.

Kennedy Agyapaong revealed that the members of parliament who followed him to visit the Adum market fire victims and other places are under threat.

Speaking at the NPP headquarters, Kennedy Agyapong stated, “The situation where we have members of parliament party executive openly endorse a candidate but when the others go to endorse one candidate they ask them to go to a disciplinary committee.

I still stand for peace but let me give you one example, the Kumasi incident, when I was there can you believe that the MPs who were with me they called and threatened them? Tech the MPs who were there they called and threatened them.

I beg you if it continues like that whatever we are doing we cannot get unity. We are preaching unity but the way things are going it is going to be tough”.

He asserted that NPP can only reclaim power if they are united and anchored in fairness and justice.

“If NPP will come back to power unless we are united, I insist even if you bring Jesus Christ without unity we cannot win an election. So I am of the opinion and firmly believe that with unity, we will be able to win 2028.

But there is a catch here when you want peace there are two things that are needed, fairness and Justice. Without fairness and Justice, it will be very difficult to get everybody on board so I am pleading with you the executive to stand firm, I know pressure all over”.
