Ghanaian media personality and broadcast journalist, and the host of Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana Paul Adom-Otchere has revealed a presidential staffer threatened to beat him and his family up.
According to Paul Adom Otchere, the Presidential staffer identified as Nana Poku threatened him and his family members.
He added that Nana Poku claimed if Ghana were to be Nigeria he (Paul Adom Otchere) would not be alive to talk foolishly when the NDC is in power.
Speaking on one of the episodes of Good Evening Ghana, Paul Adom Otchere stated, “Last Saturday I had an unpleasant experience, it has to do with Good Evening Ghana, I happened to be at Prempeh the First International Airport on Saturday, I went to a funeral in the Brong Ahafo areas and we were coming back through Kumasi.
As I got into the airport there were a few people there, and people started coming round we were talking there was one very senior member of parliament there so we were talking and there was another important NDC appointee who was also there, so the conversation was naturally politics”.
The broadcast journalist continued, “Then a man walks in, whom I don’t know, now I have been told who he is, he shook hands with the MP and the NDC appointee and then he said pointing to me as for this guy we should beat him, he said we should beat you. I thought he was joking. He said who do you think you are if this is Nigeria NDC is in power and you are still on TV you are a foolish boy we will beat you and your children.
That your mother at Makola I know the shop I will go and slap her, and I said who is this, everybody was beckoning me don’t mind him, so he was going on, so the member of parliament took him away, and said let go but he said he won’t go. You can be on TV and be talking foolishly if this is in Nigeria you think you will be alive talking nonsense on TV”, he added.
Adom Otchere further added that their investigation revealed the man was called Nana Poku and is a Presidential staffer at the Jubilee House.
Paul Adom Otchere further added, “We took the photograph of him very quickly and everybody was looking at him, I got to know he might be a very important person because when the plane arrived this Aircraft that brought us to Accra had the Ashanti Regional minister on board, it had this very senior NDC member on board, but there was a fleet of cars when we got down that came to pick him up so that made me know he must be a very important person.
During the interaction, I said everything he was doing would be reported he said even Julius Debrah could not do anything to him, when he mentioned Julius Debrah I knew that maybe he had some connection with the Chief of Staff. He added that we run the Jubilee house and is the engine. When it came out he was a presidential staffer I was not surprised.
This guy three months in Jubilee House I don’t know what he was doing before he became a presidential staffer in January. NDC is in power so somebody should be on TV. What is wrong with these people how does power get into their heads”, he added.
Paul Adom Ochere revealed the issue was a major threat hence he reported it to the Ghana Police Service and he hoped the service would conduct the investigation thoroughly.
