Kojo Adu Asare a former member of parliament for Adentan has blasted the Ranking Member for Defense and Interior Rev. Ntim Fordjour.
According to him, a plane lands in Ghana, and suddenly it means the government is trafficking drugs.
The former MP asserted that he does not understand Ntim Fordjour’s logic.
Speaking in an interview on Metro TV, Kojo Adu Asare stated, “A plane lands in Ghana, and suddenly it means the government is trafficking drugs? Is that the logic? Planes land in Ghana every day. How do you jump to such a conclusion without evidence?”
“He is the Ranking Member for Defense and Interior. He has access to the IGP, the Chief of Defense Staff, and Customs. Why didn’t he make an effort to ascertain the facts before rushing to hold a press conference?”
Adu Asare added, “The opposition is desperate to paint us in the same light as they were. But the truth is, we are not in the same league when it comes to matters of integrity.”
“Within months of being in office, we have made major drug busts. Under their leadership, did we ever hear of such arrests? Are they suggesting this is the first time drug traffickers have attempted to operate in Ghana?”
“We are here to govern seriously. We are not saints, but we will not shield anyone who engages in wrongdoing. The opposition should stop trying to fabricate scandals where none exist.”
“If you allege, you must prove. Speculation is not evidence. The government will not be distracted by empty noise”, he stated.
The former MP further expressed his shock that John Mahama took his claims seriously.
“I am shocked that the president even took him seriously. To the extent that government agencies have to waste resources on such a fluke issue is beyond me. He is a Member of Parliament, not a security expert. If we start responding to every minority MP who calls a press conference, we will never get work done”, he added.
Meanwhile, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications has tackled the Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, Rev John Ntim Fordjour for peddling total falsehoods and lies.
According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Rev John Ntim Fordjour was peddling falsehood in a bid to undermine the goodwill the government is enjoying from Ghanaians.
