A video has surfaced on social media of the moment former West African light-heavyweight champion, Segun ‘Success’ Olanrewaju collapsed and died during a fight at the Bukom arena on Saturday.
According to reports, Olanrewaju was competing against Ghanaian boxer Jon Mbanugu at Fight Night 15 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League.
The 40-year-old Segun ‘Success’ Olanrewaju was competing in an undercard bout when he suddenly collapsed.
Segun ‘Success’ Olanrewaju according to reports was leading in terms of points in the friendly competitive exchange with Ghanaian boxer Mbanugu, nicknamed “Power”.
The Nigerian boxer is a widely respected boxing figure in Nigeria and held both the Nigerian and West African light-heavyweight titles during his boxing career.
